Arachnid Class Transport

Initially designed in 2001 as a 'hero level' ship for a friend's story he was writing at the time, the Arachnid Class vessel has evolved over time through many different variants and software. From MS Paint to the current suite of software used to create this beast of a vessel, it has taken 12,000 hours of work since the first concept was conceived.

The overall idea of the project was to make a ship comparable to the venerable Firefly Class of the show by the same name. As such, the similar hull layout with the engines, crew and cargo bay can be found still residual within the overall structure. Much has changed and evolved over time of course, as these things normally do, with the addition of details such as atmospheric control fins, weapons systems, additional engines for the cluster nacelles, etc. etc.

The 3d Spin-table of the Valkyrie Rose. One of my favorite works so far.

Since I started this project, this particular scene has long since captured my mind and imagination.
